Waka Poetry Kit (Middle Ages Japan)
$16.32
Most westerners are familiar with the famous style of Japanese poetry called haiku, with its 5-7-5 syllable pattern. However, haiku is derived from a much older style of poetry called waka, which simply means Japanese poem, and is also known today as tanka, or short poem. This style dates back at least 1000 years and has a syllabic pattern similar to haiku. It’s slightly longer, with five lines totaling 31 syllables. Now you can create your own Waka poems with this set of magnetic poetry lines.
